Print the finished sheet
The exported PDF already contains two source pages on each landscape sheet side. Select one PDF page per physical side and disable the printer driver booklet feature.
Actual size and margins
The layout fits source content inside your chosen margins. Printing at a second fit-to-page scale changes those margins and the fold position. Use Actual size and verify that the selected paper matches the output.
Manual duplex needs a physical test
Tray feed direction is device-specific. Print one numbered front, mark the top edge lightly, reinsert and print its back. Write down the successful orientation before running the remaining pages.
Establish the printer setting experimentally
Printer drivers describe duplex edges differently, especially for landscape pages. Begin with a four- or eight-page numbered sample and print it on one or two sheets. Mark the top edge lightly if necessary, fold the sample and inspect all page numbers. The correct setting is the one that leaves both sides upright in the intended folded reading direction.
If the reverse is upside down, change the driver's flip edge and repeat the same small proof. Do not rotate random output pages until you have isolated the printer setting. If fronts and backs appear in the wrong sequence, inspect the sheet-order table and whether a second booklet, reverse-order or multiple-pages-per-sheet option was enabled in the print dialogue.
For manual duplex printing, first learn how the printer feeds a marked sheet. Print one side, note which edge enters first and which face receives the ink, then follow that observed path when reloading. Different printers require different reload directions; an online instruction for another model is not a reliable substitute for a one-sheet feeding test.
Review margins and the center fold as well as orientation. Keep important text away from areas your printer cannot image and away from the fold. The output preserves source page graphics but scales them to fit the selected sheet layout. Interactive annotations or form controls are not retained as editable controls after pages are embedded into the imposed document.
